Therapy And Treatment
Psychiatry
Psychiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnoses, prevention and treatment of mental disorders.
At Montrose Place, we assess the individual’s psychiatric profile as well as their substance abuse/ dependence history to ensure that we are maximising our client’s potential to find full, lasting and self-sustainable recovery from addictive, compulsive and co-morbid disorders.
The extended care programme at Montrose Place affords the clinical team sufficient time to make an accurate diagnosis after the effects of withdrawal have begun to subside following a detoxification process.
Appropriate medication can enhance the recovery process, but inappropriate medication can jeopardise it and lead to relapse. If medication is warranted it may be recommended by one of our team of expert consultant psychiatrists in the interest of ensuring that the client is able to fully engage with the therapeutic programme.
Such decisions are taken with a long term view of the recovery process.
At Montrose Place, a bank of specialist consultant psychiatrists is available to the client. This affords each individual the opportunity to seek advice from an expert in the field of the presenting problem they are experiencing.
